Follin's Meditation - 6 of Wands

The image shows a man on horseback parading through the streets displaying a wreath of triumph. 'This is a parade of honour,' thought Follin. He walked along beside the man on the horse to experience the ecstatic displays of the folk watching the parade. After some minutes he decided to call out to the man on the horse.

"Hey, sir, do you have time to speak with me?" he yelled trying to be heard above the noise of the crowd.

The man looked down, leapt off his horse and in one bound grasped Follin by the hand.

"Well, hello, Follin, of course I have time for the hero of the Flame. This triumph is all about you, didn't you know that?"

Follin took a step backwards in surprise. "What? No, what do you mean?"

"Your control of the Flame, sir, you have proven that you can command our Kingdom's element, fire," the man replied.

"Me? No, no, I haven't learned near enough to consider myself a fire adept. Maybe I can control a little of the Flame within, but command that power, no, no..."

"This is my fault, I've confused you. Let me explain. In the Kingdom of Fire, one must undergo a series of trials to control the Flame. You have made a critical breakthrough, you have used the Flame in a safe and controlled manner. This is what we are celebrating. Soon you will be tested one more time, and that will confirm you as a Fire Adept and become our Fire Mage."

"And what sort of trial is that?" Follin asked.

"Your mentors haven’t introduced you to the next stage of your journey? Then I shall not preempt them. Just let me say that you have achieved a high honour, this triumph is yours to enjoy. Look, there's the Old Smokey Inn at the end of this avenue. Come, let me introduce you to another of their specialties: curried potato, refried beans and spinach pie, you'll love it."
